      Upon successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to:

    • Efficiently use and handle workshop tools and equipment while observing safety measures.
    • Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble engine parts such as camshafts and cylinder blocks.
    • Set the valve timing of 4-stroke motorcycles.
    • Service oil pumps for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke motorcycles.
    • Adjust ignition timing (CB Point adjustment) and verify with an ignition timing light.
    • Replace and adjust clutch plates.
    • Perform maintenance on the transmission system of the motorcycle.
    • Replace and adjust brake shoes or disk pads.
    • Service front and rear shock absorbers.
    • Perform tuning on both 2-stroke and 4-stroke motorcycles.
    • Conduct basic electrical service tasks such as battery and bulb replacements.
    • Explain the purpose and use of common hand tools and measuring tools.
    • Describe the working principles and construction of inte
    • al combustion engines.

    • Compare the features of four-stroke and two-stroke motorcycle engines.
    • Explain the purpose, construction, and operation of motorcycle fuel systems.
    • Describe the components of ignition systems (CB point type and CDI system).
    • Understand lubrication systems and cooling systems (Air Cooling).
    • Describe the purpose, construction, and operation of clutch, transmission, and final drive systems.
    • Explain mechanical and hydraulic brake systems.
    • Describe suspension systems and shock absorbers.
    • Explain the purpose, construction, and operation of starting systems.
    • Provide an overview of the fundamentals of electricity.
    • Describe the construction and operation of electrical components used in motorcycles

  • Entry Level: Middle, Preferable Matriculation
  • Age requirement: Between 15 and 38 years old, or 18 to 40 depending on the Certification Awarding Body (CAB). NAVTTC and PSDF accept candidates aged 18 to 40, while others accept those aged 15 to 40.
  • Duration of Course: 6 Months
  • Total training hours: 800 Contact Hours.

The curriculum covers key topics such as safety precautions, workshop tools, engine introduction, special tools, comparison of two-stroke and four-stroke motorcycle engines, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, starting systems, suspension systems, charging systems, tuning, overhaul, fault finding, and remedies, along with instruction in Functional English and Information Technology.
